KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 30 (Bernama) -- The executive aviation industry is going through its biggest-ever transition with businesses and ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW) travellers developing a greater awareness of the huge time and convenience benefits it offers, said executive aviation services provider, Jetex.
Its founder and chief executive officer Adel Mardini said the industry has shown its ability to adapt and remain connected to its customers, spurring their desire to travel and discover within an environment of luxury and supreme service. In the company’s 2022 annual review, Mardini said data from aviation data research firm, Wingx, revealed that 2021 saw 3.3 million private flights globally, the most on record, and the industry is set to grow by 10 per cent in the post-pandemic period. “A much larger number of ultra-premium passengers continue to fly private rather than returning to first or business class. There has also been an increase in first-time private flyers for both business and family travel. “As a result, sales demand for both new and pre-owned jets has climbed to record levels and is expected to continue, with 8,400-8,500 new business jet deliveries between 2022 and 2031 at an estimated value of US$264-US$274 billion (US$1=RM4.415),” he said. Mardini said demand for private air travel is expected to grow further year-on-year (y-o-y), and Jetex is thrilled to be part of the growth. “With more flexibility, time efficiency, and a larger possible reach, the demand for private air travel is expected to grow further y-o-y and Jetex is thrilled to be part of this ongoing success story,” he said. Jetex is recognised for delivering flexible, best-in-class trip support solutions to customers worldwide, and its services include private terminals, aircraft fueling, ground handling and global trip planning. DENVER, Dec 30 (Bernama-GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Today, Global Down Syndrome Foundation (GLOBAL), published a Spanish and Japanese version of the GLOBAL Medical Care Guidelines for Adults with Down Syndrome (“GLOBAL Adult Guideline”) in collaboration with the El Centro de la Universidad Católica de Síndrome de Down in Chile (Centro UC Síndrome de Down or CUSD) and the Japan Down Syndrome Association (JDSA). The GLOBAL Adult Guideline is the first evidence-based guideline for adults with Down syndrome and was published in English in JAMA, the Journal of American Medical Association, in 2020. The guideline authors include the directors of the largest adult Down syndrome clinics in the US, and the current nine medical topics are: behavior, dementia, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, obesity, osteoporosis, atlantoaxial instability, thyroid disease, and celiac disease. GLOBAL is working to expand the topics to include sleep apnea, solid tumors, leukemia, vision/eye care, and physical therapy and fitness. In addition to the 80-page guideline for medical professionals, GLOBAL has also published a much shorter family-friendly version, and toolkits that include easy to follow assessments for Celiac disease, Diabetes, Behavior, and annual check-ups. All of these resources for adults are now available in Spanish and Japanese at no cost on the GLOBAL website, DS-Connect®: The Down Syndrome Registry, CUSD website, and JDSA website. “GLOBAL is pleased to be able to reach Spanish and Japanese speakers who have Down syndrome and their families in the U.S. in collaboration from the National Institutes of Health/DS-Connect®,” says Michelle Sie Whitten, President & CEO of the Global Down Syndrome Foundation. “The NIH’s Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development has been supportive from the beginning. We are also deeply grateful for Dr. Macarena Lizama at CUSD and Dr. Hiroshi Tamai, President of JDSA, Dr. Chisen Takeuchi of the JDSA for helping to ensure this reaches hundreds of thousands of Spanish and Japanese speakers around the world.” GLOBAL has worked with Congress since 2006 advocating for a trans-NIH Down syndrome research funding program and for increased funding. In December of 2010, GLOBAL and the NIH co-organized the first Down syndrome research conference with a focus on registries and biobanks. One important result was the establishment of DS-Connect®: The Down Syndrome Registry. “It is so important for me and other people with Down syndrome to have this in Spanish,” says Yadiro Carrillo, a 32-year-old self-advocate and entrepreneur who happens to have Down syndrome. “I need to know how to take care of myself as an adult!” “Seeing the guideline in Spanish feels like GLOBAL values Spanish -speaking families like mine,” said Yadira Carrillo, mother of a 32-year-old daughter who has Down syndrome. “Language is a barrier some families face to receiving medical care and I know this will help so many people in the U.S. and internationally.” In Chile, GLOBAL has been working closely with Dr. Lizama on many projects including creating the Spanish version of the GLOBAL Guideline and the COVID-19 and Down Syndrome Resource. “What Michelle, Bryn Gelaro and their team have accomplished in research and medical care is so important,” says Dr. Macarena Lizama, Medical Director of the El Centro de la Universidad Católica de Síndrome de Down in Chile. “We are honored to collaborate with GLOBAL on this transformative resource and to improve medical equity, especially for Spanish-speaking countries where medical care access and basic resources for people with Down syndrome can be very scarce. I will be very proud to use this resource in my clinic and share it with my colleagues and families.” Dr. Hiroshi Tamai echoes this sentiment, “We are grateful for the collaboration we have had with GLOBAL and to have this important resource in Japanese is a dream come true. My daughter and thousands of Japanese adults with Down syndrome will surely benefit. We look forward to working with GLOBAL and adding new medical areas in the next few years.” GLOBAL is currently working with the Ministries of Health in both Chile and Japan to ensure the guidelines are available free of charge and easily findable on their disability home pages. This creates a more financially inclusive society for underserved citizens such as micro-business owners and rural communities.
Lockin Company’s CEO, Myoung Kyu Choi, shared, “Southeast Asia, one of the fastest growing economic regions in the world, is one of the regions most impacted by hackers, which has driven up demand for enhanced mobile app security. We plan to work with more financial service providers in Southeast Asia to strengthen mobile app security with LIAPP’s robust, cloud-based security infrastructure.” LIAPP already protects customer-facing applications of institutions such as IBK Industrial Bank of Korea, KB Kookmin Bank’s network of apps in Cambodia, Myanmar, and Vietnam; fintech provider Rupi in Indonesia; as well as one of Indonesia's largest banks. According to the World Economic Forum, digital financial inclusion enables major access to investment, credit, and insurance products in Southeast Asia. However, with it, cybersecurity threats have been on the rise. In 2022, 94% of businesses in the region saw an increase in the volume of cyber attacks, as per a recent report by Palo Alto Networks. Running on a Runtime Application Self-Protection (RASP) system, LIAPP offers rooting detection, anti-tampering, memory protection, native library protection, and screen capture prevention, among other cyber protection services. Delivering best-in-class performance, LIAPP’s action-based detection technology prevents malicious app attacks by immediately detecting the first hint of tampering or suspicious app activity. LIAPP constantly evolves to provide utmost security and comply with market regulations. For instance, following Google’s restriction around QUERY_ALL_PACKAGES permission, LIAPP is still able to protect applications using its action-based detection technology, a distinct competitive advantage over competitors. LIAPP’s plans range from basic protection to LIAPP ENTERPRISE, which safeguards cross-border enterprises such as fintech firms and banks. Worth US$6 billion in 2020, the application security sector is projected to reach a value of US$33.9 billion by 2030, according to Allied Market Research. In a statement, the company said two models were chosen for the on-site team communications during the event, namely, the PNC380 PoC Radios and PNC560 5G XSecure Rugged Devices, ruggedised for heavy duties. “Both the hardware and software algorithms empower their premium audio; the noise cancellation algorithm ensures crystal-clear voice calls in the stair shaft, where ambient echoes are common,” it said. The PoC devices kept all the onsite personnel, across more than 100 floors of the building, connected as teams of different functions and ensured a smooth and safe event. Hytera director of global marketing and solutions, Gerald Zhang, said the company always proposes and offers the right solutions to its customers. “The skyscraper indoor environment is usually a challenge for push-to-talk communications if the property owner hasn’t deployed a well-planned system with repeaters. “For the Ping An vertical marathon, as long as the carriers’ indoor coverage is good, PoC is the right solution. Our PoC devices performed perfectly to keep teams informed and synchronised,” he added. When planning for the vertical marathon along with the organiser, Hytera team did a technical evaluation of the event venue. The indoor coverage by local cellular operators was good and the Wi-Fi network offered reliable connectivity. -- BERNAMA Hillstone Networks is positioned as a Visionary based on its Completeness of Vision and Ability to Execute

When the pandemic struck, larger grocery retailers, namely hypermarkets & supermarkets, were quick to adopt new innovations to facilitate checkout, locate products in the store and keep customers up to date on products and promotions. It is unlikely they will ever go back to the pre-pandemic ways now that their customers are used to, expect deeper personalisation, and avoid checkout queues with seamless checkout and cashless payment services inside the cart. With an intuitive user interface that is supported by real-time data from sensors, cameras and Artificial Intelligence (AI), ezyCart enables grocery retailers to engage shoppers and deliver personalised and frictionless experiences inside their stores while gaining access to real-time insights into shopper preferences and behaviour and boosting brand value, footfall, sales and customer retention. ezyCart and its shopping systems are patent-pending in 9 major patent offices worldwide. Through this project, Retailetics created an enhanced retailing ecosystem through three components: ezyList, ezyRetail, and ezyCart. The Eindhoven data centre, including the hydrogen emergency backup power solution and the onsite hydrogen storage solution, is a greenfield project that is expected to be operational in the second half of 2023. The six Jenbacher hydrogen engines will provide carbon-free emergency backup power in cases of electricity grid outages. “We are excited and proud to build the first 100 per cent green hydrogen emergency backup power solution with engines for data centres globally together with NorthC,” INNIO president and chief executive officer Dr Olaf Berlien said in a statement. Meanwhile, NorthC chief operating officer Jarno Bloem said with INNIO’s Jenbacher hydrogen emergency backup power solution coupled with the renewable power sources from the electricity grid, the company is able to decarbonise its complete energy supply infrastructure. NorthC has implemented a strategy to be fully carbon neutral by 2030, which will be accomplished via four sustainability pillars, namely 100 per cent green energy; modular construction; making efficient use of residual heat; and green hydrogen. The Jenbacher hydrogen engines replace traditionally used diesel generators as an emergency backup solution. The Jenbacher Type 4 hydrogen engines generate a total power output of six megawatts and will be delivered as a containerised package. To provide additional flexibility and security to NorthC, the six Jenbacher Type 4 engines are configured as dual-gas engines. In case of an electricity grid outage, the engines are operated with the on-site stored hydrogen. “For longer duration grid outages, NorthC has the option to switch to natural gas as an energy source during operation of the engines, in case of shortage in the H2 supply infrastructure,” INNIO said. -- BERNAMA |
