TOKYO, Feb 27 (Bernama-AsiaNet) -- Genesis Healthcare Co., Japan's pioneer genetic testing and research company, has completed a third-party equity allocation to Rakuten, Inc. (TSE: 4755) and Omron Healthcare Co., Ltd. Genesis' Capital has increased to 3.78 billion yen, and Genesis' post-money valuation is approximately 42 billion yen (*1).
As the market leader in the genetic testing and research field in Japan, Genesis has actively pursued development of the Japanese scientific landscape through numerous R&D, product development, awareness raising via human resource development and advanced education, and genetic data translation into useful solutions. As of today, the company's Japanese genetic data platform exceeds 550,000 individuals, the largest in Japan and potentially in Asia. In 2018, Genesis aims to accumulate data of 1 million people, or 1% of the population in Japan. This will be Rakuten's second investment since its initial investment in August 2017. Rakuten's commitment to assist in the development and advancement of genetic technology and its useful applications in healthcare is a novel approach to fostering innovation. Secondly, Omron Healthcare and Genesis have formed a partnership since 2014. Both companies jointly developed a personalized health solution business model combining a genetic test kit from Genesis and digital health wearables from Omron Healthcare. The new capital will further strengthen the partnership as the addition of biometric information such as blood pressure from Omron's precision wearable devices will maximize the utility of Genesis' genetic data-sharing platform. By analyzing various data, both Omron Healthcare and Genesis will develop and provide services to predict in advance future severe illness, treatment to prevent the onset of the disease, and guidance on health management. Together, the two companies will work to promote and realize ideal solutions for personalized healthcare. (*1) The equity value is based on the latest financing stock price of Omron Healthcare Co., Ltd. multiplied by the total number of issued shares. As a leading company in the genetic field in Japan, Genesis will continue to pursue the development of genetic research and tests in Japan and then explore the market worldwide. EAST LONGMEADOW, Mass., Feb 23 (Bernama-GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Excel Dryer, Inc., today announced that three of their hand dryers, the original, patented, high-speed, energy-efficient XLERATOR® Hand Dryer, the XLERATOReco® Hand Dryer and the ThinAir® Hand Dryer, were evaluated, and their environmental claims, substantiated with the publication of the hand dryer industry’s first Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) by UL Environment, a business division of Underwriters’ Laboratories. An Environmental Product Declaration is a standardized way of quantifying the environmental impact of a product by studying the raw materials and energy consumption during its production, use and disposal. For buyers and specifiers, the EPDs are a disclosure tool that helps purchasers better understand a product’s sustainable qualities and environmental repercussions so they can make more informed product selections. To create an EPD, there must first exist Product Category Rules (PCR) which create testing guidelines and reporting methods through industry consensus, thereby permitting buyers and specifiers to compare products, apples-to-apples. The corresponding EPDs provide insight on the environmental impact of products from cradle-to-grave. Last year, UL Environment selected Excel Dryer to chair a committee comprised of leading hand dryer manufacturers. Working collaboratively, the group created the PCR for hand dryers, a first for the hand dryer industry and the first global standard for any industry. “I was honored to have been selected as chairman of the PCR committee,” explained Vice President of Marketing and Sales, William Gagnon. “Excel Dryer is proud to have been the first to publish dry time and energy use results of our three high-speed hand dryers to the new global PCR standards. We continually challenge ourselves to lead the industry, and when it comes to environmental sustainability, we lead by example.” For a product to gain EPD certification, it must be studied cradle-to-grave by way of a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) conducted by a credible third-party following ISO 14040 standards. Excel Dryer again called upon world-renowned Quantis International, with whom they previously worked, for their latest LCA. “Excel Dryer has long-expressed a commitment to environmental sustainability and our credible, third-party testing results quantify and substantiate their claims,” said Jon Dettling, U.S. director at Quantis International. “We, at Quantis, are honored to have been chosen to play a part in the historic creation of the first hand dryer Environmental Product Declarations.” mrem.bernama.com/viewsm.php?idm=31260 KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 22 (Bernama) -- InnovMetric Software Inc., provider of the universal 3D metrology software solutions, has announced its market presence in Mexico with the acquisition of Prefixa Vision Systems, its PolyWorks master distributor in Mexico.

The update connects in-house print rooms and fab labs at educational institutions, legal organisations, local governments, commercial organisations and hospitals to PaperCut's print management system. "Until now, the lack of connection between our customers' general and specialty printing solutions such as print rooms and 3D fab labs has been a burden that cost them both time and money," said co-founder and chief executive officer of PaperCut, Chris Dance. 'To solve these problems, we have created a simple solution that will improve their specialty printing controls, security and payment options," he said. Previously, organisations needing specialty prints lacked affordable or efficient options, or both, to produce and manage jobs.
